Perfect Cuppa English® courses are more than English lessons. Each course is personalised to you, based on understanding what you need and then developing practical ways for you to be more confident in English language in everyday situations; whether they are formal or informal, social or business.
The sessions are flexible to fit around your schedule, and take place when it suits you. I help you understand English culture and orientate yourself in London with my local insight and knowledge, developed from my experience as a mum of a young family in the area, as well as business experience in large British and American companies.
I am available to meet you in North, West and central London. I will travel to you at your home or workplace.
We can meet in the convenience of your home or at your workplace. Email or phone me to discuss your requirements.
Sessions can be flexible depending on your needs, fitting around your schedule during the day or evening.
The majority of my work is with adults, but I have teaching experience with children as well, and hold an enhanced CRB check. Email or phone me to discuss your requirements.
I can set up conversation sessions for small groups (maximum 6), as well as individuals; a good opportunity for friends to learn together.
I recommend that Business English Coaching is for individuals only, so that the course can be personalised completely to your needs.
I recommend that you have a minimum level of pre-intermediate English in order to get the most from the culture coaching, as well as improve your English.
If you’re not sure about your current level, then let’s discuss.
Even advanced levels can benefit, as you learn more about British specific phrases, culture and body language; making you more effective in communication.
Absolutely! That’s the benefit of working with you individually or in small groups. It’s personalised to you and I can make sure I help you learn exactly what you need.
Not necessarily. I will talk to you about your learning needs, and then recommend what’s required. That might be a short intensive course or a longer course with regular sessions. You need to book a minimum of 5 sessions.
This will depend on your learning needs and whether it’s individual or small group sessions. After an initial meeting with me, I will develop a recommendation with costs, which we agree before we start. Longer courses will attract a discount.
I ask clients to pay for sessions by bank transfer or cash, in advance of the first meeting. There is a cancellation policy (see next question “What if I need to cancel a session?”).
Occasionally you may need to cancel a session, you’re away with work or on holiday. You can cancel a session up to 48 hours before the start time without paying; otherwise it needs to be paid in full as a lot of the preparation for each session happens in advance of each meeting.
Perfect Cuppa English® can help you by suggesting how to structure your thinking, offer advice on appropriate writing styles and provide feedback as a business consultant. I have worked for 12 years in business and marketing, and written and reviewed many similar documents myself, so I can provide you with an authentic and relevant perspective. You provide the writing and I can support you by finding ways to improve it!
I aim to work quickly and discreetly, as I understand deadlines are sometimes urgent. Depending on the length and type of document, Perfect Cuppa English® can usually provide feedback 24-48 hours after agreeing a brief and receiving the document.
We will agree the right method at the briefing stage, but options include adding comments to the document, or tracking changes, before emailing it back to you. In particular situations, it may be possible to provide feedback over the phone.
It depends on the length and type of document as well as the urgency of the deadline. I usually charge per hour for time spent reviewing a document, as more than 1 round of review may be required, and then invoice you at the end of the project. Email or phone me to discuss.
The orientation tours generally last 2 hours with a stop at a café. Babies and children are welcome in a pram and buggy.
Yes, that is possible. The walking tours involve a gentle walk, but if you need specific support, please email or phone me to discuss your requirements and I can adapt the tour to your needs.
English weather can sometimes be hard to forecast, so the walk will happen, even if there is some rain or snow so remember to bring walking shoes and an umbrella! The walk will be rearranged to another date if there is very heavy rain or snow. Unfortunately I cannot refund money for tours, because of the time spent creating a personalised tour for you.
If you cannot make the date arranged for the walk, you can rearrange it to another date up to 48 hours beforehand, otherwise it needs to be paid in full.
I develop personalised walking tours based on what you would like to know and see in the area, and costs depend on the type and length of tour. Usually they last a minimum of 2 hours and include a stop at a café for a perfect cuppa.
